Hello ETMS Families,
I’m excited to introduce myself as your new Middle School Principal!
East Troy Middle School is a special place, and I have had the pleasure of working in middle school for the last three years, most recently as the Director of Secondary Teaching and Learning. During this time, I have gotten to know many students and families, and I look forward to continuing to build these partnerships as I transition into this new role.
Middle school is an important time for students to develop their academic and social skills, and ETMS has focused on and will continue to focus on ensuring students have opportunities, guidance, and support to do just that. Our goals are for students to feel like they belong at school, creating community and building interpersonal skills, while at the same time pushing students academically to achieve and grow at high rates.
In the past several years, we have seen growth in both of these areas! Behavioral referrals have decreased, positive student survey responses have increased, and our academic scores have steadily risen. These accomplishments are because of the hard work of our students and staff. This work is ongoing, and we look ahead to continued improvement in all areas.
Our partnership with you, ETMS families, is essential in this work. I want to work with you to create the best middle school experience for your students. As I move into the role of Middle School Principal, I want to hear from you about what the best experience looks like for your students. Please do not hesitate to contact me with questions, concerns, ideas, or celebrations. Your perspectives help make ETMS stronger, and I value the opportunity to learn from and work alongside our families.
Most importantly, I am excited for the opportunities ahead for our students. Middle school is a time of tremendous growth, and I am committed to helping every student find success, build meaningful relationships, and develop the skills they need for the future. I look forward to welcoming everyone back for an outstanding school year!
Sincerely,
Dr. Taylor Baumeister
