ACT Testing this Week - Only Sophomore and Freshman at School and all other students are online

Dear East Troy High School Families,

On March 17th, ONLY Sophomores and Freshmen will report to school; all other students will not report and will have asynchronous work on Google Classroom. Attendance will be taken based on completion of the Google Classroom work. Freshmen and Sophomores will be dismissed after testing. Bussing will run as normal, and the library will be available for students who wish to remain at school. Lunch will be served.

Wisconsin Forward Exam for Sophomores Only - April 8th & 9th during extended Resource class - all students report to school.

All assessments require in-person attendance at East Troy High School. In-person assessment is the only viable method for state assessments. The company that produces the tests currently has no remote (virtual) testing options available. Proctored, on-site testing ensures standardized administration that includes equitable access to technology and optimal testing environments, test security, and validity.

Individual student results for the ACT and PreACT Secure are typically released in May and Forward results are released to parents typically in August.

If you have further questions, please contact Stacey Kuehn at kuesta@easttroy.k12.wi.us or 642-6760 ext 5240.

HUNCH Club Talk with NASA Engineers

The NASA HUNCH students had the opportunity to present their engineering research projects at the Huff Family Innovation Center at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. The students presented to NASA engineers, engineering professors, college students, and fellow peers. During their presentations, students explained the processes they went through in designing their projects. East Troy projects included designing a trash ejector for a Mars transit vehicle, developing a system to build a 3d printed chess set that includes recycled materials, engineering a lunar jumping robot that takes pictures, and designing an Artemis lunar sample box for collecting moon samples. The students had an impressive showing and now have a chance to be chosen to present their projects in Houston at Johnson Space Center.

The HUNCH program at East Troy High School is run on a yearly basis. Each year NASA offers the opportunity to design and build the projects. These projects provide students the opportunity to learn about the engineering process. For more information about the program for next year please contact Ryan Manske at the high school.  manrya@easttroy.k12.wi.us

Key Club Honored at DCON

his year's Wisconsin-Upper Michigan District Convention (DCON) was a monumental event for East Troy Key Club. Our ET Key Clubbers took home more awards than any other school! East Troy won the following awards: Preferred Charities, Governor's Project, Social Media Excellence, Best Video, Best Poster, Outstanding Senior (Riley Parsons), Distinguished President (Riley Parsons), Distinguished Treasurer (Cooper Kabelowksy), Distinguished Bulletin Editor (Megan Meeks), and Gold (Riley Parsons) and Bronze (Megan Meeks) Level Service Hour Awards. In addition, our Division 3 won the Most Spirited Division Award, which allowed East Troy HS to take home the coveted "Bessie the Cow" stuffed animal for the year. The students also competed in the talent show and were fierce competitors in the T-shirt contest, with our amazing run/walk shirt designed by Alex Szymankiewicz.

Finally, Cooper Kabelowksy was elected Lieutenant Governor for Division 3 and will serve on the WIUM board for the 2026-2027 school year. Congratulations, Cooper!

It was also announced at the conference that WIUM district is the largest Key Club district donor in the nation for The Thirst Project, and East Troy Key Club was the largest contributor in the WIUM district thanks to our amazing Walk/Run for Thirst.

These awards were well-earned by a group of incredibly hard-working and service-minded young men and women who take the initiative to make a difference in our school, the community, and the world.

Be Informed - ETCSD Operational Referendum on April 7

Referendum Flyer

Operational Referendum - April 7

Those who live in the East Troy Community School District will be asked on April 7 to vote on a referendum that would allow the district to exceed the revenue limit by $4 million per year for three years for operational expenses. As families invested in the East Troy Community Schools, we want you to be informed of the possible implications of this referendum.

If the referendum were to be approved by voters on April 7, East Troy High School will be able to maintain staffing and programming, ensuring our students continue to receive the supports and services that has lead to:
  • Over 40 Youth Apprentices, who are gaining real-world work experience in a variety of trades and pathways.
  • Over 80% of students taking AP exams earning a 3 or higher and leading to college credit.
  • The highest state report card score in the Rock Valley Conference.
  • 25 Transcripted Credit classes that earn ETHS students transferable college credit for free.
  • Athletic opportunities and achievement including two conference championship titles, 11 individual athletes qualifying for state in their respective sports–including a state champion wrestler, and the wrestling team advanced to the team state meet in this year alone.

If the referendum is not approved by voters, the district anticipates reducing approximately 25 full-time equivalent positions in addition to other reductions. At East Troy High School, this will mean:
  • Reduced electives and offerings (Advanced Placement, Transcripted Credit, Career and Technical Education, Art, Music)
  • Reduced capacity to meet student needs in pupil services and intervention
  • Increased scheduling conflicts for students due to reductions in staff
  • Outdated curriculum materials

Please visit the East Troy School District website to review facts and stay informed, and please vote on April 7th.

If you'd like an informational yard sign, please contact the main office at 642-6760.
